Collaborating with the Nature Conservancy in Louisiana on digital and print materials

From March 24th to May 30th 2025, I worked under Susan Langenhennig as a graphic design and social media intern for the Louisiana, Southern Deltas, and the Gulf programs. The Nature Conservancy is a global non-profit that works to conserve and protect the environment. My printed and digital media provided exposure for various projects and events that enhance the conservation of local ecosystems.

Inspiration

The Nature Conservancy team in Louisiana felt that their social media presence and  printed media needed some design help. By analyzing what the global sector of the non-profit was already doing, it was easy to implement echoes into the content of the Louisiana branch. However, cohesiveness with the main brand identity wasn't the only strategy necessary to raise engagement. Extensive research was conducted regarding visual communication in environmentalism to find more information about how the current media could be enhanced further.

Development

Adhering to the established brand identity of the Nature Conservancy, true care and compassion fueled the design work. Constant feedback and collaboration with Susan Langenhennig took each piece through multiple stages of development.

Application

By using imagery from The Nature Conservancy ambassadors and wildlife photographers, the community's essence is elevated and a feeling of oneness with the world is fostered. The global non-profit does amazing work in Louisiana and professionally showcasing their contribution is incredibly important. A heightened understanding of the organization's branding identity and mission ensures the success of both digital and printed media.
